What is The Walmart Point System and How Does It Work?

Walmart’s attendance policy includes the Walmart Point System. This system aims at disincentivizing associates from tardiness, or sudden absences.

In 2019, the maximum number of points an employee can receive was increased from 9 to 5. An associate who has received five points could be dismissed.

Associates that do not show up to their shifts as scheduled will receive one point.

As an additional bonus, workers who are able to leave work early could expect to get half of their points. Unexpected absences in the holiday period, however, may result in only three points.

How Long Do Points Last At Walmart?

Walmart points do not accumulate continuously during associate time.

Every associate’s points will be reset at the end of six months in an effort to make sure that everything is fair.

Additionally, the points system does not include authorized absences. Walmart employees are not at risk of losing their jobs for failing to work five or more shifts in six months.
